The Huila region is now one of the most famous amongst coffee lovers and it was here that our plans to establish Chicas Industry first began to take shape. We first visited the region in March 2019 and fell in love with the place. Especially the Pitalito area.
From the village of Palestina, where the La Esperanza farm is located, we have tasted all great coffees in the past. But this is the first time we’ve been able to import some. A fantastically clean and floral lot from the young farmer Leyda is just great!
Until recently, the farm Finca La Esperanza consisted of cattle pastures. However, 4 years ago the grass was replaced by coffee trees of the Geisha, Pink Bourbon and Bourbon Rayado varieties.

La Esperanza specializes in washed coffees with shorter fermentation times. This is mainly because the Geisha, Pink Bourbon and Bourbon Rayado varieties grown are characterized by their high florality, which the farm wants to emphasize during processing.
We couldn’t miss this beautifully pure Pink Bourbon processed in the traditional washed method. This is our first collaboration with Ms. Leydy and we hope it won’t be our last. The coffee is floral, clean, complex, perfect for a filter. After selectively picking the cherries and peeling them, the coffee was left to ferment for 18 hours. It was then washed with clean water and sorted. This was followed by drying for 15 days on African beds.
